The Halo series. Nothing compares to the parity and level of mastery that can be achieved. In Halo, multi player is completely even and advantages have to be created by the player himself not the computer. For example in many games you can choose different characters or different weapons and gain an advantage in some areas while sacrificing it in others. This is designed so that even the less skilled player can still have fun when they occasionally come across a better player but they by chance posses an advantage over the better player in the current situation and there is nothing the better player can do to best the weaker one. In halo the starting weapons are the same, and every player has access to the same things. The skills evolve around gaining the upper hand and being able to maintain it throughout the duration of the game. There are checks and balances on everything from the weapons to the map itself, where the is no place that is safe from multiple points of entry. Every detail has been accounted for, right down to where a player can decide whether to try and finish off an opponent with a weapon and risk the opponent beating them down before they do, or they can shoot them a little and play it safe and trade beatdowns in which case both die, and the cycle starts again. Thats just a little example, i have a great understanding of Halo if anyone would like me to explain something more clearly or perhaps a different aspect.
